Having owned and operated a recording studio for 12 years, Denis D'Aoust is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of what goes into making any song sound better than the sum of its parts. He is a master at 'hearing' how a song should sound, then uses his skill to record, mix, digitally edit and master the music to create final sound tracks that are seamless and greatly enhanced. As the owner and recording engineer of August Night Music Studio in Toronto, a digital multi-track recording facility, he was in charge of the recording and production of albums and demos for independent artists and songwriters, in a variety of music styles that included Blues, Pop Rock, Jazz and Contemporary Country, often adding his own piano, organ, keyboards and vocals to the arrangements.
Among Denis' clients were Big City Blues recording artist/singer/songwriter Diana Braithwaite, country singer/songwriter Dan Hartland, Canadian songwriter Rick McCue, Hollywood Records recording artist Alexandra Slate, and four-time Juno Award nominee/ blues & jazz singer/songwriter/guitar & horn player Chris Whiteley.

Now located in the San Francisco Bay Area, Denis continues to turn raw songs into polished jewels. An example of the extent of change that can be made to a composer's 'raw' material can be heard in these before-&-after clips of the same song. Dedicated to helping children develop a strong foundation with which to learn
how to read, Preschool Prep Company™ products are designed to teach toddlers
and babies during an opportune window of time when they are learning to talk. Their products help very young children master letters,
numbers, shapes and colors ... before they are even able to speak! Denis is in charge of all music production for these projects, from concept to finished product — composing original music and adapting existing public domain songs, performing and recording, mixing and mastering. Meet the Letters, Meet the Numbers, Meet the Shapes, Meet the Colors, and Sight Words 1, 2 & 3 are currently on the market.

CANADA IS...Music
is a children's
multi-media, curriculum-approved publication from Warner Music that includes textbooks, teachers' guidebooks, cassette tapes or CDs, and piano accompaniments designed for elementary school levels. Working with project co-writer John Harrison, Denis was in charge of recording engineering, producing and digital editing on two levels of this project, and
also sang several of the songs contained on the nine CDs
that are part of each level of this project. CANADA IS...Music is used in elementary schools throughout Canada.

WOW !
is a storybook series for young learners of English. For this project, which includes storybooks and audio cassettes, Denis produced the complete audio segment. This included hiring voiceover talent, creating sound effects, and composing and arranging songs. He also contributed his own vocal talents to the project, not only as a singer but also creating character voices and as a story narrator. WOW ! is sold in bookstores in Canada.

LEARN AND HAVE FUN is a CD & audio cassette music project designed for pre-schoolers. In cooperation with project director Anjay Ramnanan, Denis co-wrote all sixteen original songs on the CD. He also programmed, arranged, recorded and digitally edited all the music, and lent his vocal impersonation talents. LEARN AND HAVE FUN will soon be available in major department stores in Canada. Using his creative ability as well as his arranging and production skills, Denis created and produced radio and television jingles
for local businesses, one of which was so successful that a single-location business grew into a thriving five-site enterprise on the strength of Denis' catchy jingle. His voiceover work has included narration, as well as impersonating a Chinese grandfather, a Caribbean sailor, and even a friendly health-conscious Transylvanian vampire!
